How big of a socialist would Jesus Christ have been?

Jesus Christ was man of HUGE socialist thinking He even went as for as telling people to give up all their possessions, and lot of other things. Constantly felt the rich were too rich and said a camel has a better chance passing though a point of a needle than a rich man going to heaven.

Jesus? What a commie pinko THAT guy was! He didn’t like ANY wars! Can you imagine?
He also wanted to feed ALL the poor people! Ridiculous wasn’t he?
Anointing the wounds of the afflicted? Puh-leez!!!!!!!!!!
What a socialist commie pinko America hater Jesus was.

Jesus wasn’t a socialist, he simply wanted man to put down his desires, not be controlled. Strive for rewards in heaven not personal gain. He didn’t stand up for society but instead he stood up for religious thinking.

if jesus comes back and is a socialist

    i guess

that i would have to let history repeat itself

but i doubt that jesus would come back

i doubt that he was a socialist

but would be pleased to stand aginst him if that were the case

Actually, Robert Owen coined the term Socialism based on Jesus’s followers, who Jesus said, "owned all things in common", and gave each to what they needed.

The early church in Jesus’s description was a "commune" of people who sold off their belongings, held the rest of their things in common, and prayed all the time and did good works for the poor.

But the pubs never *study* the Bible, it’s another ‘science’ they don’t believe in. If they did, they would discover there is no ‘single’ Bible of which to worship, not a single page, a single set of books or a single translation. Hence, it cannot be taken literally, as if we were prehistoric men, looking at the sky thinking that the rain comes out of the holes made by the stars in heaven.

Jesus did NOT FORCE people to give up all their possessions.

    What a freaking liberal.

Of course the conservatives tortured him to death for it.

A socialist forces people to give their money to the poor. Jesus never forced anyone to do anything.

This political approach to charity may or may not be effective strategy for winning elections, but let us never inject the name of Christ or the principles of Christianity into this sordid bargain. Rather let us hang our heads in shame at the evil we have done or tolerated in the name of charity — especially to the very ones we have claimed to be helping. Let us search for the lesson to be found in this statement by the Apostle Paul: "And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor … and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing."

Let us render unto the state that which belongs to the state, and unto God that which belongs to God. It is God’s commandment that there must be a personal concern, as well as a personal sharing, with those in need. The use of the force of government in this area of compassion and charity precludes any personal expression of Christianity. It becomes a mechanistic and secular thing, devoid of feeling. So let us return to the teachings of the Gospels, and render unto God our willing response to those of His children who need our help and ourselves

No, Jesus probably wouldn’t be a socialist.
The word you are looking for is liberal, which he was. However, involving Government is a whole different ordeal.
It should be noted (on a separate note, but this will do) that the Catholic Church is the only real communist assembly to exist (in the sense that the community owns everything, not to the "everyone is equal" sense. There is a natural hierarchy in the world, the Catholic Church accepts this and has a hierarchy.)
It should be noted I’m not Catholic, so this is an outsider’s opinion.

Jesus believed in charity, not socialism. There is a big difference.
Obamabot, you’re implying that all people who live in socialist countries will go to heaven. Jesus did not force anyone to be charitable or give up worldly possessions. Robert Owen was just using religion to justify socialism.
