Is being a bi sexual against Christian belief?

Posted on December 31st, 2009 by admin in Christian Belief | 9 Comments »

My whole family are very, very Christian and only recently I’ve found myself attracted to guys and girls. I’m not sure if it’s a phase or if it’s permanent… But I’d really like to know for sure whether being friendly with bothe genders is against Christian Belief.

Thank you :)

Tahn,
There are a lot of christians who believe that having intercourse for any reason other than having a baby is wrong. This is a 1st century AD mind-set. If it doesn’t feel wrong to you, and you are not hurting anyone, look inside yourself for the answer. A million people can tell you that you’re wrong, but listen to the voice inside you. That will always help you. Some parts of the Bible were written expressly for the times in which the writer wrote. Remember these were men who long hoped for control over a group of people. There are many differences of opinion here so again, I say to listen to your own heart when it comes to this.
I could be a good adult and tell you that you should not have sex at all until you’re married and only then to have a baby. This is what a lot of christians espouse, but never follow.
So, hypocrites abound about sexuality. Again, listen to yourself.
Peace,
Bret

well it depends. if your are catholic (as i am) then no

its fine to be gay or homosexual as we receive our teachings from leviticus and jesus. Basically any kind of love is great! Gay, straight, bi, anything between 2 people is… well… great!! :)

a lot of Evangelical people don’t like it. But A ‘TRUE’

christian should have nothing against it.

ALSO CHECK OUT THE STORY OF THE CENTURIAN INT HE BIBLE. ITS A LITTLE HIDDEN GAY STORY.. BAISICALLY JESUS SAYS ITS GREAT TO BE GAY IN IT. FACT. :)

The problem with Christianity is Christians, Tahn. I can say that, I’m a Christian. But our Bible was written in a different language in a different millenium than you and I are living in and there is no way to apply it to our lives without interpreting it for ourselves.

I know a lot of Christians that would say bisexuality is wrong, mostly based on a verse that says "man should not lie with a man as man lies with a woman". But God’s over-arching message is love, much more than anything else and in the spirit of that, man or woman doesn’t matter, as long as you are committed to them.

The point is, your family may have their own interpretations and unfortunately it’s not a question you can have answered without asking them.

    I hope things work out.

Bret is right my parents threw me the same bull. If you have sex you have to wait to you get married and you can only have sex if it`s for a baby. No fun sex is allowed. Sounds a little harsh to me. Fact is 90% of christains don`t follow that practice .They say it`s way to strict and totally silly. Sex is boring if you can`t enjoy it is what my first girl told me.

Different denominations of Christianity have different views on homosexuality. The Metropolitan Community Church is a gay church. The Unitarian Church, I have heard, is gay friendly. Southern Baptists on the other hand are anti-gay. Having multiple partners would probably be against all forms of Christianity. Being bisexual to me means having the potential to love either a man or a woman; it does not mean having relations with more than one person.

Christians are always against everything that’s not in accordance with their belief system. So why bother? Just keep it to yourself.
