Why is the crucification and birth of Jesus Christ important to Rome ?

Posted on December 31st, 2009 by admin in Jesus Christ | 1 Comment »

For school I am studying Rome. I need to find out why the birth and cruxifiction of Jesus Christ is important to Rome and why !?

THANKS! :)

It all happened under the governance of the Roman Empire. It was Rome that convicted him and sentenced him to death. Rome was afraid of an uprising by Jesus, who had 50,000 followers at the time. When she asks how it affects Rome, think more of the empire than the city itself.

Is there a spanish Interlinear Bible study tool on line with Westcott-Hort as the greek text ?

There is the nicest hispanic JW at the train station I pass out gospel tracts at. I want to show him how in Colossians 1:16, New World Translation add the word "other," COMPLETELY changing the meaning of the text, and it’s (other) not even in their own greek text of choice (Westcott)

This website has so many tools for the Bible in so many languages, you might find something there in Spanish to help you: http://www.biblos.com

Is being a bi sexual against Christian belief?

Posted on December 31st, 2009 by admin in Christian Belief | 9 Comments »

My whole family are very, very Christian and only recently I’ve found myself attracted to guys and girls. I’m not sure if it’s a phase or if it’s permanent… But I’d really like to know for sure whether being friendly with bothe genders is against Christian Belief.

Thank you :)

Tahn,
There are a lot of christians who believe that having intercourse for any reason other than having a baby is wrong. This is a 1st century AD mind-set. If it doesn’t feel wrong to you, and you are not hurting anyone, look inside yourself for the answer. A million people can tell you that you’re wrong, but listen to the voice inside you. That will always help you. Some parts of the Bible were written expressly for the times in which the writer wrote. Remember these were men who long hoped for control over a group of people. There are many differences of opinion here so again, I say to listen to your own heart when it comes to this.
I could be a good adult and tell you that you should not have sex at all until you’re married and only then to have a baby. This is what a lot of christians espouse, but never follow.
So, hypocrites abound about sexuality. Again, listen to yourself.
Peace,
Bret

Is it a fact that Mary the Mother of God in the Christian belief is actually based on earlier pagan beliefs?

Posted on December 31st, 2009 by admin in Christian Belief | 21 Comments »

that God was a female? And that thus to title Mary as the Mother of God’s child is a demotion for her? NOTE: If this question is deleted I will know that someone’s faith is threatened. I mean no disrespect, but you do realize that neither the Christian nor the pagan beliefs are provable, don’t you?

Some of the early Christian paintings of Mary with Jesus are direct tracings or paint-overs of Pagan Goddesses.

How has learning about science, logic, and rationalism effected your Christian faith?

How have these things effected your faith?

It was a good part of me becoming an atheist, after many years as an adult, believing Christian.
Realising the non-directionality of faith was a major step.
Faith self-authenticates *all* faiths.

P.S. that’s "affect".

Did the Republican party drag the christian faith down with them?

Posted on December 31st, 2009 by admin in Christian Faith | 8 Comments »

Every since republicans drag religion in politics their have been a drop in faith. They tried to label Obama as muslim like that’s a bad thing, called him some "anti- christ".

The Christian Faith (the world’s largest hate group) dragged the republican party down with them. Do you really think Abraham Lincoln would associate with these retards running the GOP today?

Where is the link to a video of a sermon entitled something like "Modern Christian Music: The Devil’s Tool?"?

The preacher was talking about only certain melodies and chords praising God. It used to be on You Tube, but perhaps under a different name. I can’t find it.

Thought this was interesting, I kinda want to find this too. Sounds like another example of why people are looking down on Christianity so much! Not only do people have to be at church every time the doors are open or they’re damned to Hell, now a person can only sing in certain melodies and chords or they’re damned to Hell too! I hope the world does end on Dec 21, 2012 because people are just getting too stupid and self righteous!

Topics for a christian sermon?

Right now I am in community college but I will be transferring and going to become a pastor. With that said my dad is currently a chaplain in the Navy, and he has to go out of town over one weekend. I asked if I could give the message while he is gone. He said yes. My question for you all is what are some of your favorite verses or topics in the Bible? I need a little help on deciding what to write about. Thank you very much and God bless.
The church I go to doesn’t have traditions. It is for students in the navy. So it has anywhere between 6-20 students show up. But once they are done with school they move on to their stations. So we get a new batch of students every week and we lose students every week.

You can start with this joke… a doctor, lawyer, and pastor went hunting. A deer ran through the woods 40 yards away. They aimed their guns and shot. The deer ran a little ways farther then fell over. The men asked each other is the deer dead ? " I’ll find out" said, the doctor. The doctor walked up to the deer , checked him out and walked back." Yes the deer is dead ," the doctor announced. Then they asked each other " Who shot the deer ?" " I’ll find out ", said the lawyer. So the lawyer walked to the deer. After a few minutes the lawyer walked back and replied ," The pastor shot the deer ". " How could you tell with all of us firing ?" the other two asked. The lawyer replied " the bullet went in one ear, and out the other ". You can use the joke to to illustrate how the OT prophets never seemed to have their message stick with the children of Israel—but just go in one ear, out the other.
